Leaving and Junior Cert exams get underway today

This year's Leaving Cert and Junior Cert exams are due to get underway this morning at schools across the country.

More than 55,000 Leaving Cert and 56,000 Junior Cert pupils will be starting their English papers at 9.30am.

The exams will take place in around 4,500 test centres across the country.

Pupils are being urged to remain calm and focused, plan their time, and read the questions thoroughly before putting pen to paper.
