Dead Poet’s Society, Dangerous Minds, Sister Act and Finding Forrester are just a few films that inspired many late-night, short-lived determinations to change careers. Equipped with the rose-tinted glasses of Hollywood teaching can appear deceptively romantic. It’s certainly an admirable profession with unequivocal rewards but the demands are not to be forgotten; and the harsh reality is that your hard-work may not be immediately recognised.
