» About Us
The Crawford College of Art & Design is a constituent college of Cork Institute of Technology. Situated in Sharman Crawford Street in Cork, the College has provided education in the arts for over 200 years. The college has a proud tradition in the fields of fine art, ceramic design, art teacher training, art therapy and adult education in the creative arts. The CIT Crawford College offers full-time courses to Bachelors Degree, Masters and Higher Diploma levels, all validated by CIT and the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC). Both nationally and internationally, we enjoy an excellent reputation for creative education. DEPARTMENT OF FINE ART The Department of Fine Art offers undergraduate Level 8 honours degree programmes in Fine Art and Ceramic Design. Access to both these courses of study is via a common First Year; the CAO codes are CR201 for Level 7 entry and CR220 for Level 8 entry. Entry requirements consist of interview and portfolio. DEPARTMENT OF ART THERAPY CIT Crawford College of Art & Design is the first in Ireland to provide a professional postgraduate programme in Art Therapy. Successful graduates receive the Master of Arts in Art Therapy, which is a recognised qualification for Art Therapy practice. Contact Ed Kuczaj (ed.kuczaj@cit.ie) for further information. The Department also offers a Master of Arts (Research) in Art Therapy/Community Arts.
