DBS incorporating Portobello College is Ireland's largest independent third level college. With over 9,000 students, DBS provides a comprehensive range of full-time and part-time undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and executive education programmes. Established in 1975, the College quickly established an excellent reputation for teaching quality and standards, offering flexible and innovative learning opportunities that reflect and match the needs of students and employers.
At DBS, students can study a range of disciplines such as Business, Accounting, Marketing, Management, Psychology, Information Technology, Arts, Film Studies, Literature & Drama, Social Science, Media, Cultural Studies, Social Studies, HRM and Law. Students can apply for the Full-Time Courses in Dublin Business School, either through the CAO system or by Direct Entry.

Within DBS, the School of Arts is the centre of excellence for humanities and arts programmes. Our students study for degrees in areas including Arts, Psychology, Media & Cultural Studies, Journalism, Social Science, Film Studies, Film, Literature & Drama. School of Law
The acquisition of Portobello College has allowed DBS to incorporate a School of Law with a longstanding reputation. The School of Law at Portobello College was established in 1991 and delivers a range of Law programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level on a full and part time basis. The LL.B (Hons) in Irish Law degree is jointly awarded by the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC) and the University of Wales. The degree is fully recognised by all of the Professional Legal bodies in Ireland including the Law Society of Ireland and the Honourable Society of King's Inns.
DBS School of Business
The DBS School of Business offers courses to suit different needs ranging from Certificate, to Ordinary Degree, to Honours Degree level. Your study at DBS will genuinely help you succeed in your career objectives. Our lecturers have the highest qualifications and have worked in industry, bringing senior experience with them. In order for you to be prepared for the job market we must ensure that the lecturers have suitable academic and business experience. We continually monitor what subject areas are relevant to employers. Finally, if you are willing to make the commitment we will be with you all the way.
Recognition & Accreditation
All programmes through the CAO admissions system are awarded by the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC). DBS is also an Accredited Institution of Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). All of the Level 8 Business Degrees are jointly awarded by HETAC and LJMU.
