Open your mind and create your own future at IADT

The time spent in Higher Education is an important and defining time in your life. It is a period that allows you to reach your potential in your chosen area of study, to meet people, to gain new experiences and to make choices about your future path. You are setting ambitious goals for yourself and for your future. At IADT we also set ourselves ambitious goals of providing you with a high quality and relevant education that allows you to take your skills and knowledge into employment, self-employment or further study. IADT graduates are successful nationally and internationally in the creative and cultural industries, in the sciences, arts, technology and business.

At IADT, we specialise in creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation in the digital age. Our vision is to be at the forefront of teaching, research and innovation at the convergence of the arts, technology and enterprise and to contribute to Ireland’s development as a creative and innovative economy.

Our programmes are located in three Schools:

Business and Humanities, with programmes focusing on the world of business in the knowledge, media and entertainment sectors.

Creative Technologies, with programmes that explore the interaction of people and technology.

Creative Arts, offering programmes that blend creativity and technology in art, design and media – including the internationally recognised National Film School.

IADT offers a learning environment that caters for students as individuals. Small class groups and a project-oriented approach ensure a high level of learning support.

We are committed to developing you as an individual, as an independent thinker who can think deeply and critically about the world and make a valuable contribution to it.

We offer you opportunities across the traditional boundaries of practice, space for engineers to work with graphic designers, for business people and entrepreneurs to work with fine artists and psychologists, for poets to work with photographers and technologists. We are always reviewing our programmes to make sure that we keep pace with technology and new media and with the demands of industry and society.

IADT is part of the European Erasmus exchange programme, offering you the opportunity to study part of your programme in a European institution. We currently have exchanges with universities and colleges in the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Estonia, Turkey, Hungary and Sweden.

A comprehensive range of advice and support services (counselling, career guidance, assistive technology, writing and research, etc) are available to help you make the most of your time in IADT.

IADT also has excellent library, computing, studio, sports facilities, and a wide range of clubs and societies to help you enjoy the social side of studying in Higher Education.

IADT also offers extra-mural courses in the summer and autumn, including portfolio preparation courses (if you are thinking of applying to programmes in our School of Creative Arts), and a wide range of part-time certificates and postgraduate programmes.

For information on our postgraduate and part-time courses, please visit IADT's profiles in www.postgrad.ie and www.nightcourses.com
