Ormonde College of Further Education is located at the heart of medieval Kilkenny.  We offer a range of full-time Further Education (formally Post-Leaving Certificate) courses designed in response to national and local labour market trends and to meet the career interests of students in County Kilkenny and surrounds.  The key to our current success is the quality of the learning environment created by a dedicated academic team.  Our courses offer the opportunity for school leavers and mature applicants to study for a specific qualification that may lead directly to employment or may be used to access third-level and other related courses.

This is a one year full time course that prepares students to work in a range of settings that provide direct care to animals.

• Certificate in Security Studies

FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Security Studies (CSSXX)

This is a one-year, FETAC certified, full-time course that prepares students for entry into the Security Industry in positions such as static guarding, mobile security patrols, retail security and security for special events. In addition, it may offer successful graduates the opportunity to progress further to An Garda Siochana, Defense Forces and the Prison Service. PSA, Safe Pass and manual handling certification will be made available to students.

• Diploma in Beauty Therapy

This is a two-year, full-time course leading to internationally recognised Diplomas in Beauty Therapy.

Accredited by ITEC and CIBTAC. We are proud to announce that we are working towards CIDESCO accreditation which entitles us to offer students the opportunity of sitting the CIDESCO International examination.

Level 1 Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness (University of Limerick)

This is a one-year, full-time course that aims to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in the leisure industry.

Students will pursue the Level 5 award in Sport & Recreation from the Further Education & Training Awards Council (FETAC) and the Exercise and Fitness Level 1 award offered by the National Council for Exercise and Fitness (NCEF) and accredited by the University of Limerick.
